Housing Officer
Scarborough
£32,887 - £34,617 per year plus £600 car allowance.
37.5 hours per week
We are looking for a Housing Officer to join our Hull Housing team. The role is based at our Scarborough office and involves managing tenancy functions across Hull, Scarborough, East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. The successful candidate will ensure our properties remain safe, attractive, and that tenancies are conducted satisfactorily. Key responsibilities include dealing with anti‑social behaviour, tenancy sign‑ups, void management, compliance and all aspects of housing management.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality housing management services that meet the needs and expectations of current and future residents and the wider community.
* Provide effective tenancy and resident customer service in line with policies and procedures.>
* Manage tenant expectations regarding repairs and escalating any property maintenance issues affecting resident welfare via appropriate channels.
* Deal with complaints about service delivery, focusing on first‑contact resolution and learning from each to improve customer service.
* Collaborate with colleagues in other service areas to meet compliance obligations (fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety and data protection).
* Provide general advice on all aspects of tenancy to enable sustainability.
* Work with external agencies to resolve issues affecting resident welfare, including domestic abuse, anti‑social behaviour and safeguarding.
Skills and Experience
* NVQ3 in a relevant area.
* Proven experience delivering high‑quality tenancy services within property or tenancy management.
* Excellent analytical skills, able to diagnose problems and implement solutions.
* Strong customer service and customer care skills.
* Evidence of good practice resident involvement activities.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Working knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice.
* Valid driving licence (full, clean licence required).
