We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Research and Development Scientist to join a global medical products and technologies company. The company specializes in solutions for managing chronic conditions, with leading positions in advanced wound care, ostomy care, continence care, and infusion care.
Job Summary
This role is ideal for a self-motivated, proactive individual to work mainly in a lab-based Development Analyst capacity. Responsibilities include conducting Research and Development activities and implementing in-house analytical methods. Experience with lab systems such as HPLC, UV-Vis, fluorimetry, and FTIR is required. The focus will be on various in-house chemistries, including acidified nitrite and nitric-oxide analysis. The candidate should be skilled in Method Development and Validation, as well as drafting SOPs, reports, test methods, study plans, and technical documents. Knowledge in metrology, asset management, and SIFT-Mass Spectrometry is advantageous, including equipment purchase cycles, calibrations, servicing, IQOQ, and PM/PQ.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
2. Perform GxP analytical test methods as per technical documents or protocols.
3. Conduct research, method development, and troubleshooting of lab systems such as HPLC, UV-Vis, fluorimetry, dynamic wound models, and FT-IR.
4. Oversee training of new lab members.
5. Draft and review protocols, working instructions, technical documents, reports, and SOPs.
6. Manage assets and oversee equipment procurement.
7. Utilize eQMS to carry out lab work within a GxP regulatory environment.
8. Interpret data, process results, and generate graphical outputs.
Requirements
* MSc or PhD in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry.
* 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing analytical methodologies.
* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and operate independently.
* Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
* Expertise in metrology and asset management.
* Knowledge of SIFT-Mass Spectrometry is a plus.
* Ability to support the smooth operation of the lab.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to multitask and collaborate effectively.
* Attention to detail and ability for original thinking.
* Proficiency in IT and Microsoft Office Suite.
