Overview
The Greater London Authority (GLA) is recruiting a Senior Committee Officer to support key London Assembly meetings, principally the Police and Crime Committee, and other Assembly meetings. The role is central to local democracy, engaging with senior politicians and GLA stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Liaise with Assembly Members, the Metropolitan Police and the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime to manage Assembly Police and Crime Committee meetings and respond to queries.
* Advise on governance and procedural matters.
* Update governance documents.
* Provide support to formal Assembly meetings.
Qualifications
* Proven track record of managing formal committee meetings with high-profile or political decision‑making processes.
* Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation.
* Awareness of current affairs.
* Eligible for a politically restricted role under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
