LOCATION: Salford, MediaCity Dock House – Hybrid
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £45,000 - £55,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
A crucial part of BBC’s strategy is migrating our audience from linear TV into iPlayer & Sounds. The products our team own focus on exactly this, offering easy and enticing journeys from linear TV into digital content. We work across many TV platforms including Sky Q, Sky Glass/Stream, Freeview, Freely and Virgin Media to provide Red and Green Button journeys either direct into relevant iPlayer/Sounds content or to view promoted content available.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
* Be accountable for the development of effective software that meets given complex, strategic business needs for immediate team and broader BBC
* Review and give constructive feedback on others’ code
* Troubleshooting and resolution of issues throughout the product life cycle, including out of hours support for incident resolution
* Contribute to continuous improvement of the team’s delivery and development processes
* Mentor more junior software engineering team members
* Learn new technologies and keep abreast of existing technologies, and help introduce them where appropriate
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
* Experience of Agile development methodologies
* Use of MS Copilot or similar in development
* Understanding of the principles of Multi Variant Testing
* Experience of Broadcast technologies/platforms such as HbbTV and DVB (advantageous but not essential).
