and main responsibilities
1. Work alongside the clinical and non-clinical teams to facilitate improvements, leading change and progress as appropriate.
2. Provide strong day-to-day operational management of the services delivered within the Directorate to maintain effective business, workforce and operational plans under the guidance of the Deputy General Manager and Clinical Director.
3. Support the good financial management of the directorate budget through effective management and use of resources e.g. staff, budget, premises, equipment, supplies and materials and work with the team to support the Directorate’s Efficiency Improvement targets
4. Demonstrate strong leadership, ensuring staff are supporting, living and displaying the Trust’s values and behaviors.
5. Encourage and support the team to embedUHD’sPatient First Quality Improvement Programme, acting as a role model to staff within the Directorate and encouraging ideas for improvement across the whole team.
6. Provide support to the Risk and Governance clinical leads to develop and embed the quality governanceagendawithinthedirectorateandpromoteaproactiveapproachtoinvolvementinallaspectsofgovernance, including responding to complaints and LERNs in a timely manner.
7. Managing administration and clerical support staff, dealing with individual and team issues as they arise, adhering to Trust policies and procedures
8. Develop and maintain systems and processes to ensure that work is appropriately allocated by priority, and that effective supervision is in place to support staff wellbeing.
9. Ensure the inclusiveness of all staff members in the communication of vital Trust Operational information.
10. Develop channels of communication and teamworking to ensure that the various departments within the Directorate work effectively together.
11. Attend and participate in Directorate and relevant meetings and feed back to the Directorate Management Team topromote good communication and identify issues requiring escalation in a timely way.
12. The role can be unpredictable with frequent pressures placed upon the post holder where there are competing demands.
