Salary: £31,650 per annum (not pro rata).
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm.
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only. UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship.
About the role
As a Teacher, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises pupil achievement and ability to develop. This is a great opportunity for a Teacher who wants to spend less time on paperwork and more time developing creative learning opportunities for pupils with varied and complex needs. You will work in a school with a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in decisions as appropriate. Under the direction of the Deputy Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, you will carry out professional duties of a schoolteacher as set out in current School policies. You will uphold the professional code of the GTC and teach in accordance with the ethos, organisation and policies of the school as a fully committed member of the teaching team.
Responsibilities
* Deliver curricula in line with school policies and the needs of pupils with SEMH/ASD.
* Develop creative learning opportunities and reduce time spent on administrative tasks.
* Maintain safeguarding standards and promote pupil welfare.
* Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to school improvement.
* Work under the direction of the Deputy Headteacher and SLT.
Essential qualifications and attributes
* QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
* Belief that every pupil can achieve and reach their potential.
* Adaptability in a fast-paced environment; commitment to safeguarding.
* Excellent classroom practitioner and team player.
* Ability to work with pupils with challenging behaviour.
* High expectations of others; resilience; initiative.
* Willingness to undertake training; experience in SEMH/ASD.
* Driving Licence (beneficial).
Desirable
* Experience working with young people from challenging backgrounds.
* Evidence of improving pupil outcomes.

Crookhey Hall School is a Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) School serving boys and girls aged 10–17. The school offers an educational experience that supports academic, vocational, social skills, and personal growth, helping pupils build self-esteem and aspire to reach their potential.
