Overview
Cognitive Behavioural Therapist/Supervisor — Phoenix MCT
We are looking for a CBT therapist supervisor to join our psychological professions team, offering clinical work and supervision in our adult mental health community services. The role focuses on trauma-informed, person-centred care in adult community mental health.
Main duties
The post holder will provide CBT to clients across all care sectors, including specialist CBT assessment and therapy, and will offer advice and consultation on clients' CBT care to non-CBT colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, within professional guidelines and the team’s policies and procedures. They will supervise other CBT Therapists, Trainee CBT Therapists and Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioners (MHWPs); providing guidance on client treatment, onward referrals and caseload management. The post holder has no line management responsibilities.
Essential qualifications and experience
* Psychological Therapist/High Intensity Therapist (CBT), with core mental health training (e.g. nursing, social work), accredited and registered with BABCP and professional registration (HCPC/NMC/SWE).
* Significant experience as a CBT therapist and demonstration of the required competencies.
* BABCP accredited.
* Successfully completed or willingness to undertake CBT supervisor training.
Knowledge and abilities
* Knowledge of issues surrounding work and its impact on mental health, benefits and employment systems.
* Knowledge of medications used in anxiety and depression and other common health problems.
* Understanding of the need to use evidence-based psychological therapies and how this relates to the post.
Disclosures and registrations
* Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975; submission for Disclosure to check for other convictions.
