Freelance Project Manager (Small works Water Sector) Wakefield Office - Covering Yorkshire Region Start: Mid April Duration: 12 months My Client are a Civil Engineering Contractor currently seeking a proactive and experienced Freelance Project Manager to oversee small works projects valued at £50k each, as part of the Yorkshire Water framework. The successful candidate will be working with contractor with a strong presence in the industry, that take pride in delivering projects that exceed client expectations while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. THE ROLE: Lead and manage all aspects of the 3-4 small works projects, from inception to completion. Ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets, monitoring progress. Implement necessary adjustments to mitigate risks and ensure project success. Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders Provide regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns or issues promptly. Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Prepare and submit accurate reports; financial forecasts, progress reports, and risk assessments. THE CANDIDATE Proven experience as a Project Manager in the Water Sector Track record of successfully delivering small works projects. Strong project management skills; ability to effectively manage resources, budgets, & schedules. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members. Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices. Proficiency in project management software and tools. Valid CSCS card and relevant qualifications (SMSTS, First Aid, etc.).
