The Alternative Provision is located in Bletchley and supports boys and girls with a range of additional needs associated with social, emotional, and mental health challenges. It is a larger primary and secondary provision with over 50 students aged 5–19.
The school adopts a restorative, therapeutic approach to education and behaviour management, aiming to engage pupils in key and personal skills that they can use in and out of school.
Responsibilities
* Work as a Learning Support Assistant in classes with a staff to student ratio of approximately 1:1 for groups of 3–6 pupils.
* Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs within the classroom environment.
* Contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning atmosphere.
What is required
* An undergraduate degree (preferable) and/or previous SEN experience; ideal for Criminology and Psychology graduates.
* Interest in how mental health and autism affect girls and boys differently; awareness of often-overlooked aspects.
* Good general education levels in English and Maths; 5 GCSEs Grade A*-C (or equivalent) are desirable.
* A real focus on outside interests that diversify beyond core subjects (e.g., sport, cooking, coding, dance, hairdressing, photography).
* Knowledge or keen interest in the range of learning and behavioural needs (SEMH and related provisions).
