Job Description
An excellent Secondary school in South Manchester are looking for an experienced teaching assistant to join its SEN Team starting ASAP until July. This is a 1:1 support role based in KS3 and KS4, so experience of supporting pupils within secondary schools is essential.
Key Responsibilities of Teaching Assistant
• Provide learning support for a students on a 1:1 basis
• Assist with the development of individual education and behavioural plans setting challenging expectations for pupils to achieve learning goals.
• Establish trusting relationships with pupils with interactions according to individual needs and personalities.
• Work closely with SENCo and Class Teacher to ensure learning is tailored to needs of pupils
Personal Specification of Teaching Assistant
• Have experience supporting Secondary students on a 1:1 basis
• Willing to support in the classroom as well as deliver targeted interventions
• Have an ability to use own initiative with an ability to ‘think on your feet’
• Have a positive and ambitious attitude to learning
