Occupational Hygiene Technician Major Projects Permanent Salary: £55,000 £60,000 plus up to 20% bonus Location: Sizewell C About the role We are looking for an Occupational Hygiene Technician to support a major UK infrastructure project based at the Sizewell C site. Reporting to the Occupational Hygienist, this role will support the project Health and Safety team and provide expert advice and guidance on occupational hygiene matters relevant to a large, complex construction environment. You will also be supported by a central health team, providing an integrated approach to occupational health across the wider project portfolio. Sizewell C is a nationally significant infrastructure project that will play a key role in the UKs long-term energy strategy, supporting sustainable growth and energy security. What youll be doing Working closely with the Health and Safety team to deliver an integrated approach to health Providing expert, informed advice on occupational hygiene across a wide range of work activities Advising on appropriate measures to identify, control and verify health hazards and interventions Undertaking monitoring programmes, analysing results and implementing outcomes Ensuring the project health risk profile is maintained through robust health risk assessments Driving proactive health risk management through targeted health campaigns and promotional material Delivering training to operational teams on health risks and control measures Communicating effectively with stakeholders to manage expectations in line with project procedures Contributing to health-related project groups and forums Providing expertise to assist with investigations and incidents involving health risks Offering reactive occupational hygiene support to the business Ensuring compliance with health-related procedures and processes Undertaking occupational health duties including drug and alcohol (D&A) testing in line with procedures Who were looking for Essential: Ability to work effectively within a team environment, demonstrating positive values and behaviours Occupational Hygiene degree, BOHS Certificate of Operational Competence, or working towards Experience applying good occupational hygiene practice across a range of industrial processes Strong understanding of causes of work-related ill health and preventative strategies Good knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation relating to occupational health risks Collaborative, reliable, proactive and able to meet demanding deadlines Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Desirable: Experience of drug and alcohol testing Why join us?
