There’s no typical prison officer background; people come from many walks of life. Whether you’re a parent, a teacher, have worked in retail or the armed forces, you’ll have developed the empathy, self-confidence and strong communication skills we expect.
Responsibilities
* Build constructive, positive and professional relationships with offenders who could be at the lowest point in their lives.
* Workvarious shifts and weekends as required.
* Work directly with prisoners in a unique environment, helping to protect the public and make a positive impact.
* Collaborate with colleagues as part of a team to keep the prison, offenders and staff safe.
* Take on different roles as needed; in one day you may be a peacekeeper, a counsellor or a teacher.
