<div><h3>Overview</h3><p>Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Ultrasound/Biometry Nurse to perform ocular or ENT diagnostic measurements, assist in preoperative assessments, and provide patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will operate specialized ultrasound and biometry equipment, ensure accurate data collection, and work closely with surgeons to optimize surgical outcomes.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Perform ocular or ENT ultrasound examinations, including A-scan, B-scan, pachymetry, and biometry measurements</li><li>Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and explain the process to ensure comfort and cooperation</li><li>Operate and maintain ultrasound and biometry equipment, ensuring proper calibration and function</li><li>Collect, record, and interpret biometric data accurately for preoperative planning (e.g., cataract surgery)</li><li>Assist ophthalmologists or ENT surgeons with preoperative assessments and planning</li><li>Maintain strict infection control and safety protocols during all procedures</li><li>Monitor patient condition during examinations and report any concerns promptly</li><li>Maintain accurate patient records, diagnostic reports, and audit logs</li><li>Provide education to patients about procedures, results, and follow-up care</li><li>Participate in continuing education and stay updated on advances in ophthalmic/ENT imaging techniques</li></ul><h3>Qualifications And Requirements</h3><ul><li>Diploma or degree in Nursing (Registered Nurse / RN)</li><li>Valid nursing license to practice</li><li>Previous experience in ophthalmology or ENT diagnostic imaging 12 months minimum NHS (UK) hospital experience</li><li>Knowledge and proficiency in ultrasound, biometry, and ocular/ENT diagnostic procedures</li><li>Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in data collection</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Ability to work efficiently under supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team</li></ul><h3>Work Environment</h3><p>Ophthalmology or ENT clinic, surgical centre, or hospital setting</p><p>Exposure to diagnostic imaging equipment and preoperative assessment procedures</p><h3>Area of Work</h3><p>Glasgow</p></div>
