Offer description

HR Project Officer, £30,000 - £34,000, Full Time, Carlisle or Lancaster Excellent Benefits Package! About the Organisation Join a prestigious public sector organisation in Cumbria that's committed to making a real difference through its people. With ambitious plans around Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, this organisation is actively pursuing nationally recognised accreditations including Athena Swan, Disability Confident, and the Race Equality Charter. The Opportunity Are you analytical, detail-focused, and passionate about using data to drive meaningful change? We're looking for an HR Project Officer to join a busy and ambitious People & Culture team of 10 professionals, supporting the successful delivery of HR projects that make a real difference across this forward-thinking organisation. This isn't your typical HR role. You'll be working alongside the HR Business Partner (Projects) to deliver high-impact initiatives – particularly around Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) – that support the organisation's pursuit of prestigious accreditations and drive genuine cultural change. What You'll Be Doing Day-to-Day Data Analysis & Research Analysing workforce data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement Researching and developing evidence-based recommendations for change Turning complex data into compelling narratives that drive action Strategic Reporting & Submissions Supporting the preparation of submissions for accreditation schemes and awards Writing reports, impact assessments, and policy proposals for senior committees Producing high-quality, well-researched outputs that stand up to scrutiny EDI Project Delivery Collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation to embed EDI into everything they do Project managing initiatives from research through to implementation Ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met consistently HR Support Supporting the HRBP with additional ad hoc administrative duties to support the success of ongoing projects This is a role where your analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to turn complex data into compelling narratives will be genuinely valued. About You You're someone who thrives on structure, enjoys working with data, and takes pride in producing high-quality, well-researched outputs. You're highly numerate, a confident report writer, and a clear communicator who can translate insights into actionable recommendations. You'll ideally have had some exposure to HR, employment law, or Equality, Diversity & Inclusion work, but this is not essential as training will be provided. If you hold a CIPD qualification or are working towards it, that's a bonus—but it's your analytical mindset and project management capability that really matter here. Who Would This Role Suit? This role is ideal for analytical, detail-focused professionals who want to use data to drive meaningful change in a people-focused environment. You might be: An HR professional looking to specialise – perhaps you're an HR Advisor, HR Assistant, or HR Coordinator who loves the data and project side of HR more than the day-to-day employee relations work, and you're ready to move into a more analytical, strategic role. A Project Coordinator, Officer, or Senior Administrator with strong analytical skills – you might be working in the public sector, NHS, local authorities, education, or a highly regulated commercial sector, supporting quality assurance, accreditation, or compliance projects (CQC, Ofsted, ISO standards). Why Join This Organisation? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a large, supportive HR team of 10 professionals across two sites, where you'll gain broad exposure to the full spectrum of HR activity. If you're looking to build or transition into a more traditional HR career, this role offers a brilliant foundation and genuine progression opportunities within the team. The benefits package is outstanding: Starting Salary : £30,800 - £34,000 per annum (Salary banding for this post rises to £37,000 with incremental progression) Holiday : 41 days total (33 days plus bank holidays) – with the option to buy up to 2 additional weeks Pension : Contributory scheme at 8% Life insurance : 5x salary Pay progression : Annual pay increases Working pattern : Hybrid – 3 days on-site (Carlisle or Lancaster), 2 days from home Contract : Permanent, full-time This is a rare opportunity to join an organisation that's genuinely committed to EDI and making data-driven decisions that create positive change. If you're ready to use your analytical skills to make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
