Job Overview
Deliver a high‑quality, comprehensive mental health service for children and young people with serious and enduring difficulties. Manage a defined caseload, assess, provide psychosocial and evidence‑based interventions, and conduct risk assessment and management. Supervise junior team members and contribute to team and service development.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a complex caseload, conduct specialist assessment, and develop and evaluate care plans with service users and carers.
* Assess, intervene and manage risk for children and young people, using a collaborative and evidence‑based approach.
* Deliver interventions in accordance with agreed care plans and pathway guidance.
* Maintain robust risk assessments and promote positive risk‑taking to improve quality of life and independence.
* Observe, report verbally and in writing on patient conditions and maintain an effective reporting system.
* Encourage and support service user and carer involvement and participation.
* Attend and contribute to CAMHS multidisciplinary team, business and development forums.
* Utilise agreed outcome measures to review effectiveness of interventions and participate in service development.
* Participate in current duty rota and team forums.
Qualifications and Experience
Professional registration in Child and Adolescent Mental Health (e.g., MRCPCH, HCPC) and experience working with children and young people with complex mental health needs. Evidence‑based clinical practice, risk assessment and management skills, and supervision experience preferred. Strong communication and therapeutic relationship skills, ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and NHS guidelines.
