We are expanding our team and are seeking a Quality Inspection Team Leader to join our Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of quality inspectors, ensuring quality standards are met, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure timely and cost-effective customer containment and rework activities, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
* Support achievement of Customer Key Project Indicators (KPIs).
* Supervise a team of permanent and temporary Quality Inspectors, Mechanics, Electricians, and other support staff.
* Ensure all team members are trained and equipped to perform their duties effectively.
* Coordinate and execute quality containment and rework projects to protect OEM production.
* Approve acceptable parts online to prevent production disruptions.
* Oversee onboarding and induction for new employees.
* Train the team on quality inspection and rework activities, including the use of eQCC system.
* Conduct random checks and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
* Create Statements of Work for rework and inspection projects.
* Ensure smooth material flow and proper inspection/rework processes.
* Utilize eQCC for data capture on all inspection and rework activities.
* Liaise with OEM, customers, and suppliers (internal and external).
* Ensure accurate and timely completion of timesheets.
* Promote waste reduction and continuous improvement.
* Support accident reporting and prevention initiatives.
* Follow procedures and reporting protocols for safety and quality.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Support HR processes related to employee performance and discipline issues.
Requirements:
* Experience working with OEMs and suppliers in the automotive industry.
* Proven experience in a similar quality leadership role.
* Strong background in conducting and supporting quality audits.
* Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
* Customer management experience.
* Knowledge of eQCC equipment and MS Office tools.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Adherence to company procedures, health and safety standards, and quality standards.
* Valid UK driving license and ability to work in the UK without restrictions (please note, sponsorship is not provided).
