The Economics group at the University of Surrey boasts a strong reputation for research and teaching, with over 40 members from more than 15 countries. Our commitment to high quality, rigorously founded applied and theoretical research has led to a 10th place ranking for Economics in the latest REF2021.
To support our growth strategy, we will appoint a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) level starting in September 2026. The new academic staff member will be fully embedded in our research group, supported to extend their high‑quality research agenda, build research networks within economics and beyond, and participate in externally funded collaborative research projects. Through teaching, you will play a key role in leadership, engagement and student satisfaction, including mentoring MSc and PhD students.
We encourage applications from any field within economics, particularly candidates specialising in macroeconometrics and applied macroeconomics.
