Building Systems UK is looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to support the development and delivery of our capital expenditure roadmap and business improvement goals. What you will do Based out of our Shotton site and working closely with colleagues across our manufacturing, engineering and procurement functions, you’ll help scope, shape and support a variety of capital and business improvement projects. Your work will involve preparing project briefs and technical specs, managing supplier engagement, and supporting detailed project planning and delivery. It’s a hands-on role, where you’ll bring engineering principles to life across both current operations and future development. You’ll play a key role in updating and delivering our 10-year Capital Expenditure Roadmap, helping ensure the right investments are made at the right time – and that every project delivers value. Key areas of focus include: Preparing detailed project specifications and plans Managing tender documentation and supplier engagement Supporting cross-functional improvement projects Producing detailed drawings and technical documentation Contributing to change management, training and implementation What you will need We’re looking for someone with: A strong educational background in an engineering discipline (degree or equivalent), or relevant industry experience Experience in manufacturing is beneficial – ideally within steel, metals, or construction, but not essential Excellent communication and planning skills, with confidence working across teams An analytical and proactive mindset, with good awareness of project risk Whether you’re already in a similar project-focused role or looking to step up into one, we’d love to hear from you.
