Senior Engineering Project Manager
Location: Stevenage (Hybrid Working)
Job Type: Permanent (Full-time, 4/5 days per week)
Salary: Up to £65,000 + 21% Bonus
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineering Project Manager to join a leading defence organisation and take ownership of their most critical engineering programmes. This high-impact role will see you driving the design, development, and delivery of advanced electronic sub-systems, managing projects from concept through to production, and shaping the overall delivery strategy across a growing portfolio.
As a Senior Engineering Project Manager, you’ll play a key leadership role in delivering complex projects to time, cost, and quality, while mentoring junior coordinators and supporting a team of Project Controllers. You’ll be a central figure within the project management team, influencing strategy, engaging with senior stakeholders, and ensuring best practice across project lifecycles. This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on delivery with long-term career development, with a defined path towards Delivery Lead and Sector Lead positions.
Key Skills & Expertise:
* Strong background in the engineering development of electronic systems or sub-systems
* Proven track record of delivering large, complex projects on time and within budget
* Expertise in project management disciplines including risk, stakeholder, compliance, configuration, and earned value management
* Experience managing projects across the full lifecycle, from conception to close-out
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail and commitment to delivery excellence
