Whipps Cross Hospital is looking to recruit a Healthcare Support Worker (HCA) Band 3 who will work in the Acute Assessment Unit, Older Persons Assessment Unit and Same Day Emergency Care. The post is open to experienced Healthcare Support Workers in the NHS or elsewhere. Support will be provided to complete the Band 3 competencies and progress into a Band 3 role within six months upon successful completion of all required competencies.

Responsibilities
* Patient observations (e.g., monitoring vital signs)
* Assisting with personal care and mobility
* Supporting patients’ nutritional and hydration needs
* Undertaking a limited range of delegated duties such as taking blood pressure, recording ECG, MRSA screening
* Performing simple wound dressings
* Demonstrating strong teamwork and communication skills to ensure patient comfort, wellbeing and safety
Working Conditions
The postholder will work within a challenging clinical environment, including shift work that may involve nights and weekends. The role is integral to the nursing team, under direct supervision of a registered nurse, and involves continuous competency development through training and practice.
Career Development
This post attracts individuals new to care. You will receive support to complete the Band 3 competencies and progress into a Band 3 role within six months upon successful completion of all required competencies. Until then, you will be placed at a Band 2 salary.
