About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager – Technology, the Buyer – Compliance & Governance Lead will be responsible for reviewing, approving, and reporting on operational buying activities, ensuring alignment with Tarmac Buying Policy.
Approximately 65‑70% of the role focuses on compliance and governance. Applicants should have relevant compliance and governance experience and be willing to perform these duties.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage transactional buying desk activities and support wider strategic category management.
* Approve and review purchase requisitions.
* Manage supplier accreditation.
* Support local category sourcing that enhances supplier and contractor compliance with Safety, Health & Environment and Corporate & Social Responsibility standards.
* Collaborate with category managers and business units to establish and deliver procurement requirements.
* Handle purchase card data & reporting.
* Ensure products and services are purchased cost‑efficiently and time‑efficiently, implementing agile purchasing best practices.
* Evaluate, retender, renegotiate or extend contracts and suppliers to facilitate tactical and strategic sourcing with stakeholders.
* Deliver additional value to Tarmac operational buying activities.
* Monitor and challenge non‑compliant buying activities.
Qualifications
* Degree in a business or technical discipline.
* MCIPS qualification preferred.
* Experience in tactical/operational buying.
* Experience in category management.
* Experience across multiple industry sectors is a plus.
* Commitment to a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.
