Technical Sales Manager
Polypipe Building Services invites applicants for the Technical Sales Manager role. Specialists in engineered above‑ground drainage and water supply systems, Polypipe leverages off‑site fabrication to deliver solutions to mechanical and public health engineers, M&E contractors and local authorities.
Job Overview
This role will be project‑focused, selling the entire range of Polypipe products into the commercial market.
The product ranges include above‑ground drainage, water supply systems, advantage fabrication systems and all associated building services products/services.
Area: The role will cover postcodes: NN, MK, SG, LU, HP, WD, HA, N, NW, W. Successful candidates must live within the patch.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver expected conversion rates on selected projects using a cradle‑to‑grave approach in collaboration with the wider sales team.
* Coordinate with all key stakeholders on new projects and document progress and activities on all personally assigned opportunities.
* Plan diaries effectively and forward‑plan appointments.
* Manage contractor terms and agreements, including regular reviews on levels and spend to justify terms.
* Provide first‑line technical dialogue and information to the selected customer base.
* Engage with clients, manage objections and respond to all incoming enquiries promptly.
* Complete weekly reporting in the CRM system.
* Identify incremental growth opportunities.
* Represent and support the business at various social and brand‑awareness events.
* Provide site assistance and technical training.
* Own the delivery and supply of projects by supporting operational departments.
Skills & Requirements
* Excellent knowledge of the M&E marketplace.
* Proven track record of working on large‑scale commercial projects and the ability to handle technical dialogue at all levels, with experience presenting to groups.
* Ability to quickly become a technical specialist in PBS products and services.
* Understanding of the project stages and decision‑making process in commercial construction.
* Essential: valid driving licence (travel will be required).
