The role
Deposit Pricing and Portfolio Manager role will report to Director of Liabilities and Payments and will be responsible for supporting the efficient operation the Bank’s suite of deposit and current account products and executing pricing strategies that optimise for both volume and margin trade-offs, working toward the Bank’s broader Strategy.
Responsibilities:
Take the lead in managing pricing and portfolio strategies, developing key customer and product insights and leverage those insights to boost business development.
Conduct and develop ongoing reporting with a view to continuously improving these to help inform ongoing tactical and strategic product/pricing decisions.
Support team with trusted advice on pricing optimisation through the ongoing development pricing/forecast models that build on visibility of customer elasticity, accurately predict product substitution/churn and support margin and cost optimisation initiatives.
Ensure documentation of processes, adherence to policies and procedures are in place and maintained which includes mapping of business processes with appropriate controls and obligations.
Work alongside different stakeholders across Treasury, Finance, Product, Marketing and Operations to balance business needs.
Become the expert on current market conditions, routinely conducting competitive analysis to maintain and review the competitiveness of our deposit products, and actively review potential new avenues for business.
Essential Knowledge & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Ideally degree in a Finance and/or business-related field and relevant experience in deposit/lending pricing, margin trade-offs and pricing models.
Strong understanding of drivers and levers of the lending and deposits portfolio with market/competitor experience.
Demonstrated analytical skills and able to analyse and interpretate data.
Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve business goals.
* Technical skills
o Deposit market/competitor understanding and portfolio experience.
o Advanced Excel, Macros, advanced formula, modelling/forecasting
o SQL coding skills preferred but not essential
Relevant and/or preferred qualifications
Preferred Degree in a Finance and/or business-related field and relevant experience in deposit/lending pricing, margin trade-offs and pricing models.
* Soft skills
o Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
o Able to understand business concepts and convert those into accurate forecasts/models.
o Work collaboratively with a wide range of business stakeholders.
* Risk and/or governance responsibilities.
o Broad understanding of regulatory and compliance factors affecting deposit/current account products
* Outline of Leadership responsibilities
o Line manage Analyst/Manager to support pricing and data MI production.
