Assistant Management Accountant

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join a growing finance team within a well-established group of companies. This position is ideal for someone who has already gained 1-2 years' experience in a finance or office environment and is now ready to take the next step towards becoming a qualified management accountant.
This role offers full support towards CIMA or ACCA, making it a perfect opportunity for those who have graduated with a 1st class or 2:1 degree in Accounting & Finance (or similar discipline) and want to build a long-term career in management accounting.
The Role
As part of a collaborative team of four, you will work closely with both the central finance function and on-site finance teams across the wider group. Your main responsibilities will include supporting monthly management accounts production and ensuring accurate financial reporting throughout the month-end cycle.
You will be involved in:
Preparing monthly accounts within a 7-working-day turnaround
Completing balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate business positioning
Assisting with audit and tax processes, including preparing supporting documentation and tax pack information
Liaising with various internal stakeholders to ensure smooth financial processes
This is a hands-on developmental role with clear progression pathways. Previous postholders have advanced into more senior positions within the group once qualified.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
Degree-educated with a 1st or 2:1 in Accounting & Finance (or related discipline)
Experienced in a finance or office-based environment (around 1-2 years)
Eager to pursue ACCA or CIMA, with strong academic ability
Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working to monthly deadlines
An analytical thinker with good attention to detail and a willingness to learn
