Mechanical Project Manager
Location: Edinburgh
Salary: Up to £75,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits
The Role
As Mechanical Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical projects from inception through to completion.
Key responsibilities
- Managing mechanical and M&E projects from award through to completion
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to specification
- Leading and coordinating project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Managing project costs and reporting financial performance to senior management
- Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships
- Identifying opportunities for additional works and future business growth
- Preparing quotations and tenders for project variations and additional works
- Ensuring all installations comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards
- Supporting technical delivery through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Conducting staff appraisals and supporting employee development and succession planning
- Promoting a positive health, safety, and compliance culture across all projects
About You
The successful candidate will come from a strong mechanical background and possess proven project management experience within Building Services, M&E, or Mechanical Services environments.
Candidates should have experience within areas such as
- Plumbing
- Heating
- Pipefitting
- Mechanical Building Services
- Commercial Mechanical Installations
Essential Requirements
- HNC or above in Building Services Engineering or equivalent
- Strong technical and project management experience within M&E or Mechanical Services
- Excellent commercial and financial awareness
- Proven experience delivering projects safely and profitably
- Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop project teams
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- High levels of self-motivation and leadership capability
Desirable
- Chartered Engineer status
- Degree qualified in a relevant disciplineFinancial management experience
- Experience leading multiple projects and teams
