We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Site Engineer to join our team on a construction project in West London involving significant steel and structural steel works. This is a key role on a high-profile build, working alongside an experienced site and engineering team to deliver complex steel structures to industry standards. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day engineering and site coordination of steel packages, ensuring that all works are delivered safely, accurately, and in line with programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Setting out and surveying for structural steel erection and associated works
* Ensuring all works are carried out to design specifications and engineering drawings
* Coordinating with steel fabricators, subcontractors, and crane teams on site activities
* Monitoring construction progress and reporting against programme targets
* Supporting the QA process - inspections, documentation, and compliance with BS EN 1090 and relevant standards
* Maintaining accurate records including site diaries, ITPs, RFIs, and redline drawings
* Contributing to the development and implementation of safe systems of work
* Working closely with the Project Engineer and Site Manager to resolve technical queries and drive quality outcomes
Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree or HNC/HND in Civil or Structural Engineering
* Minimum 2-5 years' site-based experience, ideally with a focus on steel structures
* Proficient in using surveying instruments (total station, GPS, levels)
* Sound knowledge of UK building regulations, structural steel erection processes, and temporary works
* CSCS card required; SSSTS or SMSTS advantageous
* Strong problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills
* Experience working on complex steel or mixed-material construction projects is highly beneficial
