Trainee Housing Solutions Officers (Homelessness) – Ref: THSO
Fixed term contract for 12 months. Starting salary £37,017.76 p.a.
This is a great opportunity to join the innovative and ambitious Housing Solutions Team at Broxbourne Council. We are recruiting two trainee officer positions on a fixed term basis and welcome applications from those looking to progress their career in housing.
In this customer‑facing role you will interview and assess individuals at risk of homelessness, manage a caseload of clients, and work collaboratively with colleagues and other agencies to give advice and provide solutions. The work is varied, challenging and rewarding, helping households resolve their housing needs and making it a great career choice.
Responsibilities
* Interview and assess those at risk of homelessness.
* Manage a caseload of clients.
* Provide advice and solutions in collaboration with colleagues and other agencies.
* Assist households to resolve their housing needs.
Qualifications
* Previous experience working within a Local Authority or a housing or homelessness setting, or transferable skills.
* Highly motivated with a genuine interest in helping people.
* Experience in a customer‑facing role (essential).
* Excellent communication skills, with fluent spoken English and good written and analytical skills.
* GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths (or equivalent).
* Full driving licence.
Working Arrangements
The role offers hybrid working arrangements. During the probationary period the role is office‑based so that our hands‑on, supportive and comprehensive training programme can be delivered in person.
