Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Technician to join our client, a leading specialist in their industry with customers worldwide. This is a permanent, day shift role.
Your responsibilities will include skilled execution of planned and corrective electrical maintenance activities, ensuring reliable condition and robust performance of various plant and equipment.
You will be involved in fault finding, root cause failure identification, defect correction, and swift breakdown resolution in emergency situations. Coordination with maintenance, operations, and process departments, along with adherence to safe working techniques and good engineering practices, is essential.
Your main duties will include:
1. Implementation of scheduled maintenance via work orders generated by the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
2. Reacting to equipment failures and carrying out corrective measures as needed.
3. Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of industrial electrical equipment, including PLCs, electrical panels, MCCs, SCADA, and general electrical duties.
4. Performing disassembly, repair, overhaul, and testing of electrical plant.
5. Installing and repairing various industrial equipment and components.
6. Investigating symptoms to identify root causes and solve problems effectively.
7. Proposing solutions for continuous improvement in plant safety, reliability, and efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have:
* IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 17th/18th edition certification.
* An electrical engineering apprenticeship at trade level.
* Experience in a similar role.
* Knowledge of automated/PLC-controlled equipment, MCCs, and SCADA.
* Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical, and process schematics, including P&ID diagrams.
* A good understanding of mechanical systems is beneficial.
* Experience in heavy industry is desirable.
* Current CSCS card, PASMA, MEWP licenses, forklift license, and confined space/BA certificates are advantageous.
* A strong understanding of safe systems of work, risk assessments, and permit-to-work procedures.
* Proficiency with handheld computerized equipment.
* Flexibility and responsiveness to business needs.
* A valid driver's license.
