The Test Analyst is responsible for designing, preparing, and executing structured test scenarios to ensure that systems and applications meet defined business and technical requirements. The role supports early validation within the test lifecycle, improving overall product quality and reducing reliance on Business Users for defect identification during later test phases.
This role is based on site in Hamilton, Lanarkshire. To be considered you must live within a daily commutable distance.
What will you be doing?
* Analyse requirements, user stories, and functional specifications
* Develop structured test scenarios and test cases
* Translate business processes into clear, testable steps (e.g. Gherkin-style where applicable)
* Ensure alignment with acceptance criteria and expected outcomes
* Execute test cases across defined test phases (e.g. System Integration Testing, functional and end-to-end testing)
* Perform positive, negative, and edge-case testing
* Record execution outcomes, evidence, and results within the test management tool
* Identify, log, and manage defects with clear supporting information
* Provide detailed reproduction steps and expected vs actual results
* Support defect triage and prioritisation activities
* Perform re-testing and regression testing as required
* Adhere to defined testing standards and processes
* Maintain consistency in test documentation and naming conventions
* Contribute to the improvement of test templates, practices, and reusable assets
* Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, and Test Leads
* Support business stakeholders by ensuring functionality is validated prior to user acceptance testing
* Provide clear and structured test evidence to support decision‑making
Who are we looking for?

* Effective communication skills across technical and non‑technical stakeholders
* Understanding of software testing principles and methodologies
* Knowledge of the test lifecycle and defect management processes
* Familiarity with structured test design techniques (e.g. scenario‑based testing)
* Awareness of test governance and quality standards
* Experience working as a Test Analyst or in a similar testing role
* Experience creating and executing test cases from requirements or user stories
* Experience using test management tools (e.g. ALM or equivalent)
