SUMMARY
As a Medical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring patient safety and delivering high-quality clinical outcomes through accurate specimen analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting.

LOCATION: Canton Potsdam Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Laboratory Services
SCHEDULE: 7.5-hour variable shifts
What We’re Looking For:
* Education: BS in Medical Technology or a related Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physical Sciences) and/or equivalent relevant experience recognized by the New York State Department of Education for licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
* Licensure: New York State Department of Education License or Limited Permit as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
* Certification: ASCP certification preferred, but not required.
Your Responsibilities:
* Analysis & Reporting: Conduct precise specimen analysis and accurately report results, adhering to established procedures. Identify deviations from expected results, troubleshoot issues using scientific principles, and maintain daily QC Action Logs and preventative maintenance logs.
* Training & Development: Assist in training new personnel, evaluate their progress, and recommend effective training methods and content.
* Evaluation: Continuously assess work processes, suggest improvements for efficiency, cost reduction, and operational problem-solving; monitor departmental reagent inventories.
Physical Requirements:
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. This role requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting.
PAY RANGE: $26.50 - $42.00
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full-time applicant. It may be modified in the future and is eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
