1. Responsible for providing technical expertise within Wood Commissioning and supporting internal Functions in delivery of services to our clients
2. Accountable for the development and on-going management of the project commissioning team and interfacing with other project departmental managers, the client and vendors / sub-contractors
3. Accountable for ensuring all commissioning activities are carried out in accordance with Wood and project procedures in a safe, environmentally responsible manner
4. Accountable for the delivery of commissioning activities in accordance with the project schedule and budget
5. Accountable for ensuring high standards of commissioning are maintained and continuously improved
6. Provision of technical expertise and experience into the development of Wood commissioning business strategy and objectives
7. Provision of technical expertise into the development of high-quality proposals including development of technical write-up and estimates
8. Manage and direct the commissioning team and personnel in the safe and structured delivery of the project commissioning scope of work, ensuring all agreed objectives / KPI’s are delivered
9. Continually strive to improve / develop the commissioning process and practices
10. Manage the commissioning budget and costs
11. Ensure all necessary sub-contracts, vendor contracts and other support are in place
12. Ensure all necessary training to commissioning personnel is provided to assure all personnel are competent and hold the necessary level of qualifications / skills
13. Ensure the commissioning organisation is provided with the correct PPE, equipment and tools in order to execute all workscopes in a safe and effective manner
14. Audit / review of the project commissioning process ensuring where applicable recommendations implemented
15. Third party verification body liaison
16. Maintain the commissioning project schedule / cost deliverables
17. Interface with the client representatives as required
18. Time served relevant trade discipline, or relevant NVQ / SVQ / HNC / HND (or equivalent)
19. Degree (or equivalent) in engineering discipline an advantage
20. MIST / BOSIET (for offshore)
21. Significant relevant completion and commissioning experience
22. Oil and gas experience advantageous or proven track record in industry with transferable skills
23. Exposure to working within a technical environment
24. Experience of people management within a Lead role
25. Fully conversant with regards to discipline technical knowledge
26. Proven experience of interpreting discipline documentation
27. Sound knowledge and understanding of Risk Assessments (RA), Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPS) and Hazard Identification Studies (HAZIDS)
28. Ability to work with timelines / targets
29. Ability to be assertive and drive culture change when required
30. Ability to advise system and subsystem priorities within construction activities with a view to achieving early handover
31. Ability to monitor work progress and report against the plan
32. Provide leadership in promoting, demonstrating and being a role model in accordance with company core values, ethics policy, leadership framework and PCE
33. Can demonstrate good understanding of company standards, processes and procedures and how they are used in work execution
34. Progressively demonstrate a level of appreciation of the work executed in relevant discipline and level of knowledge of technology within discipline area
