The Donkey Sanctuary is an international animal welfare organisation. About the role – you will work as part of the International and Partnerships team to manage programme and partnership activities in Kenya, supporting the Regional Programme and Partnerships Advisor (Africa). The role focuses on project cycle management, stakeholder engagement, compliance and the effective delivery of the Sanctuary’s strategy.
About You
* Significant Kenyan experience in a sector adjacent to animal welfare, international development or related fields.
* Demonstrable project/programme cycle management experience, ideally in animal welfare or international development.
* Educated to degree level or above (or equivalent experience).
* Understanding and experience of appropriate use of project monitoring and reporting tools.
* Experience of working and communicating internationally and building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
* Competent IT skills, including MS Office.
* Fluency in English.
Key Responsibilities
* Support programme cycle management in relation to funded partnerships in Kenya, including processing funding applications, arranging project grants, maintaining partnership relationships and reporting.
* Ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures, especially partner due diligence.
* Co‑ordinate Kenya projects and programmes, ensuring monitoring, evaluation and positive outcomes.
* Engage with country teams to ensure the Kenya country programme aligns with the organization’s objectives.
* Collate context analysis, data, case studies and photographs to support communication of our work.
Employment Terms
This role could be based in the UK, Ethiopia or Kenya. It is a full‑time, fixed‑term contract until 30 November 2027, starting as soon as possible, 35 hours per week (08:30 – 16:30, Monday – Friday). The working pattern is hybrid – a mix of onsite and home working, with onsite attendance expected 1–2 days per month.

Ethiopia (ETB): 591,250 per annum
Kenya (KES): 2,302,095 per annum
