Job Title: Part-Time Safeguarding Officer

Pay Rate: Competitive (Dependent on Experience)
Contract Type: Part-Time (Flexible hours – approx. 2–3 days per week)

About the Role:
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Safeguarding Officer to join a supportive team within the West Berkshire area. This part-time role is ideal for someone with a strong background in safeguarding children and/or vulnerable adults and a passion for promoting safety and wellbeing in educational or social care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead or support the DSL with referrals and safeguarding matters
2. Provide safeguarding advice and support to staff and service users
3. Ensure that all safeguarding concerns are logged and responded to in line with statutory guidance
4. Liaise with local authorities, social services, and external agencies
5. Keep accurate and confidential records
6. Deliver or support the delivery of safeguarding training and awareness sessions
Requirements:
7. Relevant qualification in safeguarding, social work, education, or a related field
8. Proven experience in a safeguarding role within education, social care, or similar
9. Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practices (e.g., Keeping Children Safe in Education, Working Together to Safeguard Children)
10. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion
11. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
