We are looking for an experienced and qualified cosmetic formulator to work in our lab. You would be developing exciting new professional treatment products.
The position is based at our Research & Development facility in Liverpool, easily accessible by train and car. This is a full-time role to run requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, depending upon experience.
JOB PURPOSE:
An opportunity has arisen for a degree-qualified scientist to join the team. The role will contribute to all innovation and capability projects across Lash & Brow systems. The role of the Cosmetic Formulation Chemist is to ensure that the products we have on shelf are of the highest quality in terms of stability and efficacy, a standard that people expect from the number one brand worldwide in our niche of lash and brow cosmetics.
To do this, we need people dedicated to high standards, developing the best products, using the most reliable techniques, and capturing and managing data in a structured way.
The role will be suited to an energetic, self-motivated, organised research scientist with strong people skills and good practical laboratory skills. The role will require identifying and working with other groups and external partners to develop future products and build on the techniques and processes already in place.
The role requires working across multi-disciplinary project teams where members contribute to achieving a common goal. A candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative and a desire to develop their scientific skills continually.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Work to develop our new product ranges and improve our existing ranges.
* Make recommendations on product quality and efficacy to support multiple launches to market.
* Responsible for the delivery of methods that test the suitability of new packaging solutions with Lash and Brow Formulations.
* New method development relating to formulation.
* Drive rigour in terms of high-quality measurements, reports and data capture.
* Bring together cross-category teams to shape best practices for new product efficacy.
* Support the rest of the team by providing and maintaining methods for information sharing as well as driving regular communication through team meetings.
* Present to stakeholders across work levels.
ALL ABOUT YOU:
* A degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry or equivalent is essential.
* Experience working in a lab, ideally with good working knowledge of a range of analytical measurement techniques.
* Excellent computer literacy, written and verbal communication skills and an ability to convey scientific findings to audiences with varied backgrounds.
