Full job description SENCO Location: Sutton Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Inner London Mainscale to UPS with a TLR Are you passionate about ensuring all children have the opportunity to reach their full potential? Do you have the vision and leadership skills to make a real difference to the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are working with a friendly and inclusive primary school, which incorporates a well-established SEND provision, is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to join our team. About the Role As SENCO, you will: Lead and manage SEND provision across the school, ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive. Work closely with staff, families, and external agencies to develop and implement effective strategies for children with additional needs. Oversee Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and ensure all statutory requirements are met. Provide support, training, and guidance to teaching staff to promote inclusive practices throughout the school. Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and evaluate the school's SEND policy and ensure it aligns with the school's vision. which provides for pupils with autism and severe learning disabilities and / or significant social and emotional difficulties. They will need to work effectively as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and wider school teams to demonstrate and articulate the school vision and values in day-to-day practice. They will also be fulfilling the SENCo responsibilities for the Campus.Requirements for SENCO role; A qualified teacher with QTS and significant experience working with children with SEND. SEND Experience National Award for SEN Coordination (or a commitment to achieving it within 3 years). In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation. Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and external professionals. A commitment to promoting inclusion and celebrating diversity within the school community. They will be expected to assist the Head of School in the oversight of the day to day running of our Campus Experience in a SEND school, in particular, working with children with autism and severe learning disabilities is necessary.What The School Offers: A supportive and collaborative team environment.
