Recovery Worker
Location: Meridian House, Colindale
Working hours: 37 hrs, working pattern to be discussed at interview
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £24,243 - £28,930
The Recovery House is situated in a quiet residential setting, with a large garden providing a relaxing outdoor space. People staying at the service have their own room, with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities.
The service offers support, safety planning, and a range of therapeutic interventions to equip individuals with coping strategies they can draw upon when returning home.
Purpose of the Role
1. To support the people using our services to achieve their life goals
2. To assist with the safe and successful daily running of the service
3. To work as part of a team towards agreed service and contract targets
Responsibilities
Waythrough Services deliver a range of support, from 24-hour residential care with nursing to floating support in people’s own homes. This may include working evenings, weekends, night shifts (waking or sleeping), and on-call duties.
The people we support are central to everything we do. Each individual is unique and must be treated with dignity, respect, and understanding. Responsibilities may vary day to day depending on individual needs.
Supporting Individuals
4. Support individuals to manage and improve their physical and mental wellbeing
5. Develop life skills such as budgeting, money management, tenancy sustainment, and accessing public services, education, and employment
6. Encourage individuals to live fulfilling lives and develop purpose and meaning
7. Promote independence, enabling individuals to make their own choices and decisions
Ensuring Safe Service Delivery
8. Monitor and assess resident wellbeing and welfare on an ongoing basis
9. Maintain compliance with legal and organisational standards
10. Provide a safe, respectful, and supportive environment
Key Working
11. Manage a caseload of key clients
12. Focus on each person’s individual needs, choices, and aspirations
13. Develop and review person-centred support plans with meaningful and achievable outcomes
14. Deliver structured key working sessions tailored to individuals
15. Complete and implement positive risk assessments in line with policies and procedures
16. Signpost individuals to appropriate external services for additional support
Workload & Professional Practice
17. Plan and manage your own workload effectively
18. Maintain accurate and timely records using internal systems
19. Liaise with external agencies, including community mental health teams, multidisciplinary teams, and carers
20. Build professional relationships and represent the service positively
21. Engage in supervision, debriefing, and reflective practice to support personal wellbeing
22. Stay up to date with organisational developments and best practice
