What You’ll Do
As a Tree Inspector, you’ll:
6. Conduct routine and responsive tree inspections, preparing detailed survey reports and data.
7. Use IT systems to record, store, and retrieve survey information efficiently.
8. Perform tree risk assessments, identifying work plans and priorities to ensure safety and health.
9. Assist in preparing tender documentation for external services, adhering to procurement rules.
10. Monitor contractor performance to ensure timely, high-quality, and cost-effective service delivery.
11. Investigate complaints, respond to public enquiries, and provide professional correspondence.
12. Plan and prepare tree planting and renewal schemes to enhance Cardiff’s green spaces.
13. Contribute to the development of arboricultural policies, strategies, guidelines, and training.
14. Provide expert advice on tree preservation orders, planning applications, and development schemes.
15. Uphold Cardiff Council’s commitment to equality, health and safety, and corporate responsibilities.

16. Qualified: Hold a professional tree inspection qualification (essential).
17. Experienced: Have proven experience as a professional tree inspector.
18. Mobile: Possess a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential).
