Role Overview:
As a SEND Secondary Teacher, you will plan and deliver tailored lessons that accommodate the varied learning needs of pupils with SEND. You will create a nurturing and inclusive classroom where students feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
Responsibilities as a SEND Secondary Teacher:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver differentiated lessons aligned with the curriculum and individual education plans (IEPs).
* Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching methods as needed.
* Support the social, emotional, and academic development of SEND pupils.
* Collaborate with teaching assistants, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic support.
* Promote positive behaviour and independence among pupils.
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Requirements for SEND Secondary Teacher:
* UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in SEND education at the secondary level.
* Strong understanding of SEND frameworks, including EHCPs.
* Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
* Ability to differentiate teaching to meet diverse learning needs.
* Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
* A full, up-to-date CV with clear explanations for any employment gaps over the last 10 years.
