Job overview

The post holder will be responsible for providing clinic administration and reception support for the Bolton Community Mental Health Team. This will include receiving and greeting service users and their carers into clinic areas whilst recording the service users’ attendance and clinical outcome on the electronic patient record system (EPR), along with other administrative duties commensurate to the grade.

The post holder will be interactive with the general public, nursing, medical staff, professionals and other Trust administrative and clerical staff and will ensure all reception processes are carried out in a timely and accurate manner to ensure an efficient reception and quality service to all users.

The reception service opening hours are at present, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. A flexible approach to working is essential.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust services you may be required, from time to time, to work outside of your normal area of work to cover absence / sickness. The Trust reserves the right to change your normal area of work to any other location within the Bolton Trust services.

Main duties of the job

Be the first point of contact for all visitors and callers to the unit. Managing all calls and queries appropriately in a professional manner and re-directing as appropriate. Booking of patient appointments. Ensure a clean and tidy environment is maintained within reception area. Be an excellent communicator and ability to always remain calm in difficult situations

The Trust mandates all post holders who require a DBS for their role to subscribe to the DBS Update Service. You will be required to enrol for this service for a fee of £16 per year and maintain registration throughout your employment with GMMH.
