An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Clinical Support Worker within the Acute Medical Unit.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is keen to work within the acute setting and support both the Clinical Support Workers team and the Nursing team.
You will be encouraged and supported to assist with patient care and safety.

The main role of the Clinical Support Worker includes providing fundamental nursing care to inpatients, assisting with activities of daily living, acting in emergency situations, and supporting registered nursing staff to deliver high standards of care.
As a Clinical Support Worker, you will:
* Provide direct patient care, including all activities.
* Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), providing nursing care and assistance within defined parameters.
* Perform clinical skills such as observations, recording blood sugars, ECGs, etc.
* Record patient information accurately.
* Provide basic patient care and document it in patient records.
* Help ensure the unit is clean, safe, tidy, and comfortable.
* Work effectively with the multidisciplinary team to promote patient well-being.
* Assist RNs in delivering care to designated patient groups, prioritizing care appropriately.
* Assist in implementing direct clinical care.
* Determine patient comfort by talking and listening to them and building rapport.
* Assist in feeding patients unable to do so themselves and complete food charts as necessary.
Our services operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal. We also serve community health care premises including Millom Hospital, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and RLI offer a range of general hospital services, including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various specialist services. WGH provides general hospital services along with an Urgent Treatment Centre for non-life-threatening conditions.
All hospitals provide outpatient, diagnostic, therapeutic, day case, and inpatient surgical services. Community services for adults are delivered in homes, community centers, clinics, GP practices, and hospitals, aiming to support independence and health management.
