To provide high quality business and operational service support to the Division and contribute to the implementation of strategy ensuring opportunities for continuous development and improvement of services are appropriately considered and pursued to facilitate the delivery of clinical services.

What we'll need you to bring
1. Educated to degree level in business management or equivalent knowledge and demonstrable experience
2. Post graduate expertise within a business management / operational management or health service area that demonstrates the required expert breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively and efficiently
3. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development
4. Effective leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery and demonstrate the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
5. Line management experience and the ability to management effectively
6. Knowledge of planning, operational processes and systems
7. The post holder will possess excellent team-working and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative.
8. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills.
9. Working knowledge of basic information technology.
A driving licence is required, this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have
10. Management experience within health care setting - Including experience of managing a large team of admin & clerical staff.
11. Highly specialist knowledge of treatment time guarantee legislation and referral to treatment targets
12. Excellent knowledge of electronic patient management systems (clinical portal and TRAK).
13. Knowledge of relevant surgical specialities
14. In depth knowledge of medical equipment
15. Knowledge of performance monitoring and reporting systems (e.g. MILAN)
16. Excellent interpersonal skills with patients and other healthcare professionals
17. Ability to communicate complex and sensitive information both verbally and in writing
18. Ability to manage & lead a team of administrative & clerical staff.
19. Proven leadership qualities with evidence of managing effectively through periods of significant change.

Please note this is a 12 Months fixed term post. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
Location
This role will be based in Medical Directorate within University Hospital Hairmyres.
