An award-winning Building & Civil Engineering contractor based in Co. Down has a new opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team. The company has recently expanded into new markets and business sectors, particularly in infrastructure and specialist areas, and has gained a reputation as a leading and reputable contractor delivering quality assured solutions to a diverse customer base.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide commercial support to the project team, maintaining commercial information and ensuring contractual compliance.
2. Liaise with customer representatives and third parties on commercial issues, including variations, claims, and additional payments.
3. Ensure robust, accurate, and timely cost and value reporting at project and business unit levels.
4. Maintain accurate cash flow reporting and carry out cost management including forecasting.
5. Update monthly CVR, cost, and commercial plans, and be accountable for commercial performance and strategy alongside the project team.
6. Ensure subcontractors have appropriate terms and conditions, with identified commercial risks.
7. Engage with the supply chain using correct contract terms and conditions.
8. Foster good client relationships.
9. Manage subcontract letting, negotiation, and financial accounting.
10. Coordinate effectively between the commercial team and operational site teams.
Qualifications and Experience:
The ideal Quantity Surveyor will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a QS role, a degree in Quantity Surveying, and familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract (NEC3 or NEC4). Knowledge of current Construction Law is also required.
