HSDC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Programme Leader – Adults to support the Head of Faculty in delivering outstanding adult education provision. In this key leadership role, you will manage course teams, drive quality improvement, and ensure strong student outcomes across designated programmes. You’ll play a hands-on role in shaping curriculum delivery, supporting staff development, and leading on key quality assurance processes—all while maintaining your own teaching commitment (0.4 FTE). Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
* Supporting the Head of Faculty in delivering high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment that meet community needs, develop students’ employability skills, and enable progression.
* Leading the management of course teams, outcomes, and value-added activities across designated areas.
* Conducting performance development reviews for teaching and support staff in collaboration with the Head of Faculty.
* Developing advanced pedagogy with course teams and supporting the creation of inspirational and effective learning environments and resources.
* Collaborating with MIS, exams, and delivery teams to ensure accurate information for learner registration and exam entry.
* Supporting the Head of Faculty in conducting teaching observations and leading improvements or dissemination of best practices.
Requirements
You will need:
* A degree or equivalent professional qualification, or significant relevant industry experience.
* A teaching qualification such as CertEd, PGCE, or BA (Hons) in Education.
* Leadership and management training.
* Strong knowledge of outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
* Experience in using and analyzing management information to drive improvements.
