Role overview
As a casual Family Support Worker, you will work as part of the PACT Family team, primarily based in the prison's visitor centre and visits hall. Your role involves providing support, advice, and guidance to families visiting prisoners, facilitating prison visits and family days, and supporting the play service.
A sessional Family Support Worker offers support to families visiting loved ones in the Visitor Centre. Services include play and children’s activities, as well as catering.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you should have experience and understanding of working with families in challenging environments, ideally involving prisoners and their families. You will need excellent organisational skills, the ability to manage a demanding workload, and knowledge of safeguarding/child protection practices. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to build partnerships with various agencies.
