As Door Person, you are the first and last impression of the Old Course Hotel, setting the tone for an exceptional guest experience from the moment guests arrive. Positioned at the heart of our front entrance, you will create a genuine sense of arrival through warm, intuitive and highly personalised service, always delivered with quiet confidence and attention to detail. This is a varied, hands-on role combining guest welcome, luggage assistance, valet parking and local knowledge, while maintaining immaculate presentation of the front door of the hotel. You will work closely with the Concierge and Front Office teams to anticipate guest needs, share local insight and ensure every interaction feels effortless and considered. To be successful in this role you will have the following qualities and experience: Naturally warm and professional, with a genuine passion for delivering personalised guest service at a luxury level. A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage comfortably with guests from all walks of life Well presented, diplomatic and calm under pressure, with a flexible and proactive approach to day-to-day service. Physically fit and able to assist with luggage handling and valet parking duties, including lifting up to 60lbs. An interest in St Andrews and the local area, with a willingness to build strong knowledge of hotel facilities and nearby attractions. Holds a full driving licence (desirable) Previous experience in a guest-facing hospitality role is desirable, ideally within a hotel or high-end service environment.
