A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a volunteer Treasurer at Borderline Arts. The Treasurer’s role is vital to the well-being of the charity.
What difference will you make?
The Treasurer is responsible for ensuring the charity's financial health and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. They will also be a member of the charity's board of trustees, helping other trustees understand the charity's finances and fulfill their financial responsibilities.
What are we looking for?
* Experience of financial control and budgeting, ideally within a charity
* Very good numeracy skills and the ability to accurately record financial data
* Commitment to the role
* Experience using basic databases and Windows-based software
* Access to internet, email, MS Word, MS Excel or similar
* Ability to abide by Borderline Arts policies
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Teamwork skills
* Willingness to be contacted on an ad hoc basis within set boundaries
* Experience of fundraising
* Good time-keeping and ability to delegate successfully
* Positive attitude and enthusiasm
* Regular communication with the Chair of Borderline Arts
What will you be doing?
* Producing an annual budget and monitoring its adherence
* Following month-end procedures and maintaining financial records
* Preparing and presenting financial reports to the board
* Advising the board on financial responsibilities
* Overseeing fundraising activities and managing online donations
* Ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures
* Managing banking and financial transactions
* Preparing invoices and managing petty cash
* Making payments to suppliers and managing expenses
* Completing Gift Aid claims and funding reports
* Working with the Company Secretary to upload annual reports and complete returns
