Health Care Assistant - General & Specialist Medicine

We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistants who are willing to get stuck in and hit the ground running.

You’ll be someone who works well under pressure, is a great team player as well as being self‑motivated and able to work independently when needed. You’ll be someone who truly understands the need for care, consideration and respect for our patients but also applies these qualities to your team members.

A “can do” attitude and determination to be flexible and embrace change to deliver the best patient care is essential as well as a desire to grow and improve our ever‑growing service.

Your communication skills will be second to none, working collaboratively with patients, relatives/carers and colleagues to help plan a safe and seamless journey home.

This is a unique opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant who is looking to pursue a career in a hospital setting with a passion for stroke. We are a well established team dedicated to serving patients following a stroke.

Job responsibilities

The main responsibilities are detailed in the supporting documents. This role involves caring for stroke patients, providing assistance with daily living activities, monitoring patients’ vital signs, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring safety and hygiene, and maintaining accurate patient records.


Person Specification


Qualifications

* NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or a Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship – or equivalent experience.
* Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Maths Grade D–G).
* Care Certificate.


Skills & Abilities

* Good communication (written and verbal skills).
* Basic IT skills.
* Good organisational skills.


Knowledge, Training & Experience

* Experience of working as a Care Support Worker or equivalent in a health or social care setting.
* Experience of working within a team.
* Demonstrates an interest or previous experience in supporting other healthcare staff and learners.
* Commitment to undertaking continuous professional development (CPD).


Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

£24,937 to £26,598 a year per annum, pro rata.
