Primary and secondary SEN schools and specialist provisions across Farnborough and the surrounding areas are seeking dedicated and compassionate teachers to join their teams on a long-term basis for upcoming and unadvertised vacancies. About the Pupils and Their Needs In these SEN settings, you may support pupils who: Have autism spectrum conditions with communication or sensory differences Experience moderate to severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD) Have speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) Have social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), including challenging behaviour Need support with social interaction and understanding social cues Have cognitive delays affecting processing and memory Experience sensory sensitivities and benefit from structured regulation strategies Feel anxious around change, transitions, or unfamiliar situations Consistency, structure, and a nurturing approach are key to supporting pupils’ progress and wellbeing. The Role As an SEN Teacher, you will: Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs Create a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals Use visual supports, communication systems, and sensory strategies Monitor progress and adapt teaching approaches accordingly Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and families Support behaviour positively using consistent and clear strategies Contribute to EHCP reviews, reports, and wider school life Uphold safeguarding standards and school policies at all times Key Details Start: Easter term (April) or shortly after Contract Type: Permanent Hours: Full-time (part-time may be considered in some settings) Salary: MPS/UPS, with SEN allowance where applicable Benefits: Supportive induction, ongoing CPD, and career progression opportunities Location: Farnborough and surrounding areas (including Aldershot, Fleet, Camberley, and Frimley) Who Should Apply This role is ideal for: Qualified teachers (QTS/QTLS), including ECTs Teachers with SEN experience (autism, MLD/SLD, complex needs) Mainstream teachers looking to transition into SEN Educators seeking stability and long-term career development Patient, adaptable, and child-centred professionals Requirements QTS or QTLS Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain) Right to work in the UK To apply, please submit your CV.
