Housing Officer - Harlow
Contract: Hybrid – 2‑3 days onsite, 2‑3 days work from home
Pay: £33.00 per hour (umbrella) or £26.50 per hour (PAYE)

The role
The post holder will be the principal point of contact for tenants and leaseholders in provisioning a comprehensive estate management service, ensuring all customers receive help and support in making their tenancies sustainable.
Responsibilities
* Investigate and take appropriate action in relation to tenancy and estate management enquiries, including anti‑social behaviour, harassment, neighbour disputes, unauthorised occupation of the Council's stock, successions and assignments, and breaches of tenancy (excluding rent arrears), and estate‑related incidents.
Requirements
* Knowledge and experience of housing management gained in a local authority, RSL or related organisation, including contact with the general public.
* Willingness to work flexible hours to meet deadlines and attend residents' meetings if required; must have a driving licence and access to a vehicle or suitable means of transport.
* Knowledge of current housing legislation used to address antisocial behaviour, and understanding of the key aspects of landlord and tenant legislation.
* Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, prioritise tasks against competing demands, and deliver to very tight deadlines.
* Practical and tactful approach to problem‑solving; self‑motivated team player.
