Are you looking to step up into a managerial position? We are seeking a Vet Nurse passionate about training and mentorship. You’ll be a strong patient advocate, maintaining high standards of care, identifying training gaps in clinics, and implementing solutions.
About the Role
This is a full-time 12-month maternity leave cover reporting to the Regional Clinical Director and collaborating with the Area Manager. You will assist with strategic planning related to clinical training, education, performance, and recruitment for nursing teams across Perth GP clinics. The role involves coaching and mentoring peers to enhance standards, patient care, team capability, client satisfaction, and business performance.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Surgical nursing alongside our roving surgeon.
2. Providing clinical training to clinics and individual nurses.
3. Addressing clinical standards and supporting clinics in increasing nurse capability and improving client and patient interactions.
4. Mentoring nurses regionally to uphold clinical standards.
5. Influencing clinical outcomes aligned with strategic initiatives.
6. Collaborating with the Area Manager & Regional Clinical Director to develop training plans based on identified skills gaps.
7. Preparing and delivering training at team meetings and seminars.
8. Overseeing student placements and internships in the region.
9. Assisting with recruitment, including interviews and inductions for Head Nurse positions.
10. Collaborating with industry stakeholders to create opportunities and strengthen the talent pipeline.
11. Supporting retention strategies for clinical nursing staff.
12. Ensuring adherence to the Greencross Standard of Care through education, training, and mentoring.
About Your Skills and Abilities
* Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing or higher qualification.
* Extensive knowledge of veterinary nursing principles, practices, and procedures.
* Minimum of 3 years experience in a companion animal setting with a strong surgical background.
* Proven commitment to continuing education and training.
* Ability to develop and deliver effective training for adult learners.
* Knowledge of various educational methods, including experiential learning, research, and distance education.
* Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills to inspire and motivate teams.
* Effective negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
